The defense giving up 45 is pretty disappointing. They laid an egg, and I don't think it's fair to blame it all on a lack of talent. It's a pretty talented defense. 4 really good players, plus Baker, Timu, Feeney, and the Hudsons (all 4 are multi year starters who have not improved, maybe even regressed) should be able to do better than allow 45 points. Then again, those same players have never slowed down Oregon or no huddle teams with good QB's. That's a lot of talent and experience except for the secondary.

The talent is pretty bad on the offensive side of the ball. No arguments there.

With all of the UW defensive losses to graduation/NFL, there is next to no chance The Streak ends next season. Even if the new starters next fall approach the talent of the losses, the depth behind them will be totally outmatched.

You're clearly underestimating Will "Empterman" Dissly.

I'm convinced. Fantastic offers list. A veritable who's who of college football's most legendary powers.

Am I getting whooshed on the Cooper being gone next year part?

The guy is only a sophomore. He'll be getting his PHD and around for two more years

Yep, unfortunately it's hard to see UW beating Oregon at any point before 2017 in seattle

Maybe my point on defense wasn't clear. We have some guys on defense who can shine with minimal coaching (our stars). We have other guys who need to be fully coached up to be highly effective. The lack of depth I am referring to was unclear I realize now. I was thinking in terms of age particularly. More junior and senior DBs for example would be paying dividends this season I think.

The defense is overrated. We learned that during August and September.

16 points to Hawaii. 19 to Illinois 20 to cal, 14 to GSU,
    Then 7 to cal
Only bad games were eastern and Oregon. That proves it is overrated? This isn't the 80's where teams were consistently scoring in the teens. Also forcing plenty of turnovers
