Petersen has contributed to 2 of Wazzu's losses this year

Remember the Rutgers game? Missed FG before the half would've changed the complexity of the 2nd half. That and Rutgers' last TD would have only tied it. But, instead, they lost.

Remember the Nevada game? Sure, they lost by 11 and their PK only missed 2 FGs, but those that would've kept Wazzu in the game.

Remember the Cal game? Yeah... of course you do.

So what does Petersen have to deal with Wazzu's kicking woes? Vizcaino committed to Wazzu over the summer and remained committed to Leach for several months and into 2014. When Petersen arrived at UW, he noticed the lack of depth at PK and P and went after Vizcaino because he could do KO, FG and P. The kid made the right decision and joined Petersen, leaving Wazzu without a PK commit for 2014. To make matter worse, Wazzu lost their only scholarship kicker to graduation, so they were left with only walk-ons and scrambling to find a new PK in late January. After that... well, you know the rest.

Thanks Petersen!
