Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
Especially late in the game when the OC and special teams coordinator didn't know it was 4th down. Peterson was yelling into the headset letting them know it was in fact 4th down. You have to think Peterson questioned himself at some last night promoting him to OC.
The build up over the past six months about attention to detail did not show last night and especially with the coaching staff.
The defense looked dazed and confused, Jermaine Kelly was tacking high all night and looked unprepared. 217 rushing yards right up the gut of the defense. Timu got obliterated most of the evening. Qualls seemed to be the only guy that enjoyed hitting outside of Feeney's big special teams hit. The strength and conditioning looked more like Ivan's regime.
There seemed to be zero fire on either of the lines and the having a senior laden lines again means nothing. Maybe these guys don't enjoy playing football?
Coleman came through at the end of the game, Washington looked tentative all night but as roaddawg said the line was unimpressive. Coleman 17 carries and Washington had 12. I would prefer to see one back get the bulk of the carries and they have three weeks to find the main back. Washington looked awkward catching the ball amazing to think he was a converted wide receiver.
There is no way to polish this turd of a game. Hawaii's botched reverse pass was the game saving play.
Hawaii was one the worst teams statistically last year. Their defense gave 38 points a game last year ranking 115th. There is no way they improve dramatically.
Not to see UW line up and not run the ball at will was truly difficult to watch. Smith's play calling was uninspiring. It was clear Lindy had totally lost composure and yet Smith kept forcing the pass.
Buddha Baker was torched early and often. The safeties and Kelly need to learn fast, faster than a guy with a big football can put down a banana.
Not to put up at least 40 points on offense, giving up 217 yards rushing and horrific third down defense is cause for alarm.

(On being a guy who tries to focus on fact they won) “Usually not. But I’m going to kind of work really hard to be a glass half full guy. I think our guys played hard. I think there were some good individual plays. Certainly, as a team, we didn’t play nearly like we think we can play. I think it’s going to be a big wake-up call. It’s just hard to win games against anybody. That’s the point that we’re trying to make to our guys. We come over here in this environment, especially early in the season, everybody’s got mojo and it showed up. Then we’ve just got to be more consistent.”
Being young isn't a good excuse. It's college football. Guys graduate and you're young every year. That doesn't mean guys can't become better as they get older.
If you enjoyed that game and felt good about it then you have bigger problems than having over 10,000 posts on a forum. You aren't even a board member.
Let the small army frenzy begin!!!
It was a disappointing game, but LIPO. These cream puffs give them an opportunity to fix things (I'm still not forgiving Woody Woodpecker for the 1aa schools).
Hawaii also had the ball with 2 min to go and a chance to beat Fresno St last year, driving to Fresno's side when time ran out. Unless you are a top 25 team, you probably aren't going to blowout Hawaii @ Hawaii. All we learned is we are not a good team with our backup QB…to start the season.
People that are trying to understand this team before the season starts on September 27th are wasting their time and obviously learned nothing from the Doogasm that occurred last year when Sark plungered Petersen.
There's your rebuttal, go light yourself on fire and jump off the Aurora Bridge already.
