Thoughts on a near disaster

Other than the opening kick off, special teams were fine.
No turnovers. Very few penalties or other mistakes.
But the offense was a disaster.
I am hoping that Miles will make a big difference. Lindquist had some good moments, but his timing with receivers was all off.
Coleman should be the starter at RB.
It was encouraging that we were able to run the ball at the end when Hawaii knew we had to run it. Maybe if we had run the ball consistently from the beginning....
And that leads to my big concern: I don't like our offense.
What offense are we running? Its not a spread option. It's not the pistol. It' not the I. Without a fullback, and often without a TE, we really aren't a power team; but we also weren't really spreading the field either. It really felt like we had no plan and no identity.
Glad we won. Hope Cyler makes a huge difference. But I am shocked, and pretty worried right now.

I'm with you on this. Our offense is an amorphous piece of shit. There's a bunch of pre-snap movement that rarely got used. I hate the pistol. It needs to DIAFF. Either go shotgun or go under center. I've never seen a good offense run out of the pistol.Auburndawg said:

It just looks like our offense requires a quarterback who is at least somewhat accurate and won't look his first receiver down like he wants to suck him off.

Why didn't Lindy run more? There were plenty of options to run when he handed the ball off? Why was the coverage soft? Where is the man coverage? Where was the lane discipline on D?

I'm really hoping this offense is mostly due to a limited playbook.EsophagealFeces said:
