Bench player for a bad USC team. Tested well athletically but isn’t an NB-level player given he’s only 6’2” and doesn’t play point guard.

In spite of the current ability to attract foreign players to the NBA (currently the better players at the top) there aren't enough quality players to staff 30 teams, let alone a league expansion. TV viewing is down as the public realizes a Tuesday game in which both teams are "load managing" due to a brutal 82 game schedule is basically an exhibition game. Then toss in the guaranteed contracts in which 34 year old Dame is getting paid $48.8 million this year, $58.5 million in 2025/26 and $63.2 million in 2026/27. Huge pay increases for an aging player who can't play defense.

I'm not sure I agree with the "brutal" 82 game schedule. It's been that way for decades and the players have better training, travel accommodations, etc than they did at any other point.
I think the real issue is that players are load managing to extend their peak earning years, and also because they have more wear and tear on their bodies when they enter the league because youth sports have turned into year-round specialized training systems.
Either way, the regular season absolutely sucks more than it ever has. Foreign markets are going to be what floats the league finances 25 years from now with how things are going.

I've been a NBA fan forever but I don't like the current chuck and duck style of play
Analytics say shoot 50 threes. I prefer the more balanced play but the way guys can shoot makes it unlikely to change

Its not the way they can shoot. Jerry West would have a field day with the 3 pointer. It is the complete lack of defense. Last night Boston made 29 3 pointers. I coached at different levels K-12 over the years and one thing I know for certain, if they wanted to hoist 3 pointers in the 1st quarter, they wouldn't have shot any more the rest of the game. There is zero defense in the NBA out top.
If I am Portland, I put the new center from CT down low to challenge every shot and put my best perimeter defenders out top and never them get a shot off over the 3 point line. There is a way to coach against the 3 pointer but the NBA has decided to go with athletes and not complete ball players. It excites the crowd and pays the bills. I get the money making aspect of offensive athleticism over team defense, but as you can see in the Olympics, foreign teams with far less talent are a challenge our all-star squad. Its still a good product because the athletes in basketball are without a doubt the best athletes in the world, just not the type of bball that I want to watch.
In addition, Lebron's son is not a good college player let alone an NBA player. Its classic Los Angeles beautiful people manufactured feelings BS. Lebron is not in my top 10 as far as great basketball players goes. He is a superb athlete who is playing in a defenseless league. He could have been the best Tight End the NFL had ever seen.
