I would agree that millennials are entitled, but I don't know if that's because they are millennials, or because they are young and lack perspective. There are people that enable this and profit off of it. Fuck them. I think it has more to do with work ethic. You can either believe that you can affect your own outcomes via hard work and persistence, or you can choose to blame someone else for your misfortunes. There is no excuse to not be successful in America. Simple as that.

First off, I agree the participation trophies for anyone over seven are retarded. I remember getting one in 7th grade and thinking, "WTF is this?"

As for no excuse, sure maybe 45 years ago. That's when education was considered a public good, not a f****** business. I know 4-5 people who are college grads who owe a ton of debt. Most aren't theater arts majors either. I know a couple who have very good jobs, probably in the six figures, and they take home about 40 percent. Sure a lot of that is taxes, but a lot of it is loans. But why is the economic recovery anemic?! Anyway, they will be paying those off until they're in their 50s. That's ridiculous.

Upward mobility in this country is really weak. If you don't believe me, look it up. The anyone can make it in this country isn't apt right now. Sure, someone will always bring up some example of an Asian refugee who put himself through school working two jobs while taking care of his family. This is not a typical case.

Tell that to my Ukrainian neighbor who supports 6 kids and wife doing auto body work and freelance handy man type stuff. He's only been in the country for a decade. The money is there if you have a work ethic and marketable skills. Degree or no degree.

I also hear that there are a lot of websites out there where you can get college degrees or the equivalent knowledge, either for free or at a large discount.
