TV in general is pretty awful these days. Only show I have thoroughly enjoyed as of late is House of Cards. Nothing but fucking and everyone stabbing everybody else in the back... what's not to like?

Maybe network TV is shitty, but there are some pretty great shows right now. True Detective, Fargo, and Game of Thrones are all awesome (house of cards is good too). There are quite a few shows that are worth watching, and Breaking Bad was excellent.
Family Guy, The Office, and Big Bang Theory were the only network shows I've watched in the last ten years. Probably 90% of that was re-runs and DVDs anyway.

I always threaten to cancel my cable about every six months because I'm one of the white people who thinks they're above TV, when they really aren't. I usually get a discount when I threaten to LEAVE though.

Threatening companies that you give your business to is always a good strategy. Whenever I forget to pay a credit card and get a late fee, I call them up and remind them that I'm a good customer and they need to cancel the late fee and remove it from my record. If they are hesitant, then I threaten them and they cave in. When I'm late on my internet bill, I call up the internet company and threaten them if they hesitate to remove the late fee. I threaten my insurance companies with quitting and going somewhere else if they don't match the lowest available rates. I wonder if this would work on Derek - threatening to LEAVE if he doesn't give me 200 free awesomes.

    You chose 200 awesomes over:

    Blow
    A hooker
    An autographed book
    A reach around
    Full gas can
    A match
Blow, a hooker, an autographed book, a reach around, full gas can, and a match
    And you care about awesomes
