DeBoer says Huskies shifting to the 46 Defense

That's how many points they are expecting to give up?

I mentioned it on the pod. One of the most frustrating things about the defense is that they're using like five DBs basically yet still no one is ever near receivers. I also wonder if they overestimated their ability to get pressure with the four-man front - especially against mobile QBs.

They would do better just sending everyone after the QB. At least if they give up the big play they’d get the ball back quicker.
Death by 1,000 cuts sucks. -
Doesn't seem like they send guys much. Would feel a lot better about that if guys weren't constantly wide open anyway.TheHB said:They would do better just sending everyone after the QB. At least if they give up the big play they’d get the ball back quicker.

Maybe it was being spoiled by Vita and Gaines but it sucks to never see any fraction of penetration from the DTs blowing up run plays or getting after QBs. -
What the fuck is Dom Hampton doing? I would have him in the backfield chasing qb’s 60% of all snaps

Busy with two things:NeGgaPlEaSe said:What the fuck is Dom Hampton doing? I would have him in the backfield chasing qb’s 60% of all snaps
1. Playing that position called Husky or something where the role is to be completely out of position on pass plays wandering in open field and come up and completely whiff on run plays.
2. Being overshadowed with how bad he's doing by KamFab

Pretty sure that Derek knows that it was the 1989 ASU game where the Devils threw it all over the DAWGS and won the game in a high scoring affair.
James told Lambo to get after the passer. Donald Jones moved to rush end and the Huskies switched to the 46 defense and terrorized the Pac for the next 3 years
Lambo became famous but it was James. Lambo stuck with the defense long after it was figured out when he was head coach.
It's always the head coach -

They should try the 69 defense. Pretend to be hella gay so the OL won’t want to block.
-
Why they don't blitz more? Seems like when a team applies pressure most QBs in the Pac-12 have a hard time with it.

Donald Jones was a backup fullback on a team running Gilby and Pinkel's one-back. Let that sink inRaceBannon said:Pretty sure that Derek knows that it was the 1989 ASU game where the Devils threw it all over the DAWGS and won the game in a high scoring affair.

Are you insinuating the head coach made the most of the talent he had? Weird.DerekJohnson said:

When I was a kid playing for the Sammamish Bengals, we had the "Bengal Blitz", where we'd send all 11 defenders after the ball carrier. Every time we ran it in practice, we got tackles for loss. We ran it twice in a game, and both times gave up a touchdown.TheHB said:They would do better just sending everyone after the QB. DM DeBer… point your Husky at the QB and see how fast they can get to him. Your corners suck ass. Speed kills, use it.
Push up the middle heat on the edges. Easy -
He might be the most physically gifted guy on defense and he has zero positive impact on the game. He either lacks instincts or the coaches don't know WTF they're doing with him. It's probably both. I agree that he should just rush the passer 50% of the time. DO SOMETHING!NeGgaPlEaSe said:What the fuck is Dom Hampton doing? I would have him in the backfield chasing qb’s 60% of all snaps
