USC ended 2008 with a 12-1 record, #2 finish, and dominating Rose Bowl win over Penn St. They beat UW 56-0 the previous year. And the previous week, they beat #8 tOSU in Columbus.
UW hadn't had a coach since Rick and we were 1 week after ending a 15-game losing streak
Yes, I think Jimmy is the only other 3-0 start.
This one seems like DeBoner, by a mile. Sark beating USC seemed like a fucking miracle and was based on a perfect set of circumstances. I dooged hard but didn't feel like we ever had a shot to win the Pac that year.
At first glance here, DeBoner, seems ready to Boat Race some fools which is what you need to do to win in College Football in the 2020's.
Jimmy blew out Arizona #webeatarizona struggled to hold against the Beav getting a gift of a spot from the refs and was saved by Wittinghams poor coaching. 3-0 is 3-0 but that teams weaknesses were evident and exposed the final game and during the 21 season.
DeBoner looks good so far and there are concerns moving forward but this team looks much more promising and better coached than the other 2.

I give Sark some credit to take Owen and have them competitive, but as others have mentioned, he had a lot of things go his way. So far, DeBoer is just beating that ass rather than leaving anything to chance.
Beating Colorado at Husky Stadium was big for Rick. Got that team rolling
Great conference season that went down in flames
Agree its hard to think of Rose Bowl in year 2
Owens and James needed 3
But Rick was 13-3 in the conference the first 2 years. Time has made my memory fade of how competitive the first few years were under Slick.
Fuck it! I change my mind. @MikeDamone @creepycoug I'm changing my vote to Slick > Pete.
Selectively bookending Rick, after 0-2 he went 7-3, 11-1, 8-2, before losing to the U by 500 points and then following it up with losses to Texas and Michigan (12 men on the field).
Losses to ASU, 1-loss K-State, Oregon, Beav, and of course UCLA twice. ASU of course the only home loss. 26-6 ain’t a bad stretch. It was a fun time to be at UW.
