PAC 12 CHAMPS PLAYING FOR THEMSELVES
MARCH TO ATLANTA, ON TO ORLANDO
One of the great things about college football is that it remains at its soul, a regional game. Big time intersectional games come and go but the year in and year out hatred of your neighbors is a constant.
We are in atime where the big time match ups have gone for Washington leaving us with a 10 game audition against long time Pacific Coast Conference rivals like Idaho. Bama will play an ACC team and a B1G team in a bowl but most of their record is built upon the rotting corpses of SEC rivals.
One thing we know this year is that the SEC is down but Bama stands heads and shoulders above the rest and is a worthy #1 seed. The SEC swept the LA schools in the pre season so we assume the PAC 12 still sucks much as it has since Pete Carroll left to call passes on the goal line in the waning seconds of the Super Bowl.
Alabama is the only great thing about the SEC this year. Usually that is enough.
We know that Washington is the best of the west thanks to a 9-1 record and a title game victory over Colorado. Washington did play a B1G opponent this year. Yes, Rutgers is in the B1G. The legendary Midwest football power, Rutgers, were blown out by our lads.
While experts and fans are comfortable picking Alabama to win rather easily, the fact is we won't know for sure until the two squads face off in the I Dig Those Georgia Peaches Bowl. What if the West Coast has caught up and our Western Champion is as good as the Kings of the South?
The 1984 Huskies were reminiscent of the team that had the opponents run off the field after hearing a train whistle and three plays later Washington scored. Yet they scored 28 points against the vaunted Sooner defense. And held the prolific Okies to 17 points.
There is still room for surprise in college football and this would rank as one of the larger ones ever. To be fair, the chalk usually wins and there have been several blow outs in the BCS and CFP games.
The path to victory has been detailed as has the path to defeat. All we can do now is play the damn game.
Look for live reports as the entire DFI staff flies to Atlanta on Thursday for the game.

FRANK HOWARD AND WOODY HAYES WALKED INTO A BAR

Ohio State may be a year away and Clemson may be a year late but both teams find themselves back in the playoffs for the 2nd time in three years of its existence. the young Buckeyes have reloaded under Urban Meyer and the seasoned Tigers are back to complete some unfinished business from last year where they dropped a close one to Bama in the title game.
Both teams featured a veteran quarterback, DeShawn Watson and J T Barrett. This should make for an exciting game as we wait to see Washington's opponent in the title game.
Clemson coach He Haw Billy Bob Gantry will aw shucks his way through the pre game pressers while Urban Meyer continues to look like a man suffering a permanent heart attack.. He has more close calls than Hyman Roth.
CLEMSON 28, THE FUCKING OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BITCH 24
I like Fresh Bowl in this one. Thanks for reading. Or not.
