That's a fair question and I'm going to assume you sincerely want a thoughtful answer. Money there is now worth nothing. The idea that Venezuela has basically become a barter economy has my deep sympathy. It sounds like a hell-on-earth type of situation.

Yes I was sincerely asking. I do chuckle at how people take it as a model that liberals in America want to follow. Then ignore the places that are capitalistic, like India, that are awful as well, just for different reasons.

I feel sorry for the folks who didn't vote Venezuelan socialists into office. They never deserved that. To those that did, I would give them Sven's twenty and say, this is the result of your own ignorance. You should have done your due diligence, picked up a history book on socialism and discover what happens when you embrace the philosophy of envy & failure.

And underlining the tragic and completely avoidable of the situation, Venezuela is or was a massive oil producer.

Socialism doesn't fucking work. It just doesn't and never will. When people know the government is going to seize most of their shit and re-distribute it if they become successful, there's no incentive for anyone to be successful, and everyone becomes a failure.

Same with purely free market capitalism.

Yes. While a few big cities have American money flowing in. Overall people are just as poor as Venezuela. I can list other free market countries that are just as fucked.

They have areas where poverty is worse than Venezuela. But it's comparing apples to mangoes. India is positioned to do some big things in the years ahead.

Nice use of the word mangos. When I was in India, we were given "fresh" mangos, said the were yummy. There's so much pollution, they literally tasted like smog smells.

Socialism is awful, no one* wants a truly socialistic society. But the point is, a truly free market isn't any better. Just a different method of achieving the same result.

*You know what no one means. Yes you might find a couple people who have zero power that want a socialism. So go fuck yourself.
