If Pop is perceived to be fucking with Leonard's future his popularity among the media and players goes way down

He's about one year away from he could only win with Duncan anyway

Phil could only win with Jordan and Pippen or Kobe and Oneal.

The Detroit Pistons are the only team in the modern era to actually win a title without a bonafide all-time great. Saying Pop needed Duncan isn't really a dis as much as a reality.
    Yikes.

Isaiah Thomas is an all time great.
He's not talking about those Pistons.

Yeah I always forget about that shitty team and shitty era of the NBA.

Haralabob says Lebron to the Lakers is a wrap. This means it’s a wrap.

LBJ was NEVER staying in Cleveland … only way he wasn't going to LA was if he took a short-term trip to Houston for the purposes of beating the Warriors (nothing else matters). But it was always about getting to LA, becoming the billionaire athlete, his kids, his business endeavors, etc.

The problem with the Kawhi deal between the Spurs and the Lakers is that the pieces don't really match up. If I'm the Spurs I'm never doing this deal with just Ingram and Kuzma as the major parts of the deal. The picks for the Lakers really will never hold interest. The only way that the deal is going to get done is to open it up to a 3-team deal because the Lakers will need to move out Lonzo as part of the deal because there's no way that LBJ is going to put up with LaVar's circus. The Celtics rumors for Kawhi I'm 81% sure are tied to the Spurs trying to create a market given that the Celtics have assets that they want and nothing will motivate the Lakers to act like thinking that they have competition from Boston. Problem is that Boston's never going to give a competitive offer as long as Kawhi doesn't commit long-term to them AND they are satisfied with his medicals.

In the end, Kawhi's going to end up in LA because he holds the cards to do so ... whether that's with the Lakers now or with the Clippers next year as a free agent (assuming that the Lakers max out their cap space this year). Ultimately the Spurs are going to have to figure out how to make the best out of a shit sandwich.

PG staying with OKC is actually really bad for the Spurs. It essentially limits the bargaining power that the Spurs have with the Lakers because LBJ + another max requires the Lakers to have to play some ball to fit Kawhi in sooner than later to make it all work within the cap. Now, they can add LBJ this year and then sit back and lowball the Spurs knowing that Kawhi (or somebody else) comes into the equation next offseason.

    Some early free agent thoughts:

CP3's 4/160M deal is going to look terrible in Years 3 and 4

Ariza leaving Houston for Phoenix on a 1/15M is a big hit for Houston … it will be interesting to see how they replace him as they aren't a deep team to start with

Baynes back to Boston on a 2/11M deal is a solid deal for both sides

I'm sorry but even all of the Blazer hating fags here have to agree that PG going with OKC instead of Blazers/Lakes is incredibly retarded. Seriously, playing with Mello and Westbrook instead of Dame/CJ or Lebron....LOL

Paul George to stay irrelevant as he should

Magic didn't want him and neither did I

Is this some sort of flatbed truck joke?

I’m shaking and about to vomit

Oooooooh the NBA it never stops. I’m hearing Kawhi is now saying he’d consider resigning with Philadelphia. Philly, like LA, could add Kawhi and Lebron.
