NOGAF about basketball in Minnesota so pathetic performance doesn't matter.

People in Seattle somewhat give a shit about baseball.

Or at least shit like garlic fries and grasshopper snack and IPAs.

Minnesota has a lot more valid excuses for sucking than the Mariners.

That's been said since 2013. I'm waiting for them to do something.

The Timberwolves have a clear future plan, with 2 top-10 under 25 players and one of the best G/F in the game with Jimmy Butler. They'll be in the playoffs soon. Meanwhile, the Mariners are one of the jokes of baseball. The Timberwolves have a semblance of professionalism.

The NBA has a salary cap and it’s freezing in Minnesota. The best free agents aren’t going there when they have multiple max contract offers.

They have a decent team now. Their top 3 players were drafted and traded. No All Star is signing to play in Minnesota.

The Mariners are just cheap. They can spend as much as they desire, they just don’t. Offer more money to the best players and they will come. There are no set in stone, max contracts like the NBA. Seattle is a nice place to be in the Summer. The players are in AZ for spring training.

Both franchises are horrible from the top down. Neither should be as futile as they have been.

The Mariners have spent $200MM before. They are just a bad franchise who can't evaluate talent. You could give them $300 MM to spend and they still wouldn't sniff the Division title.
    Exactly.

The Mariners problems are deeper than money.

Both suck, but to not make the playoffs for 14 years in a league that sends half the teams is incredible. This is a legit tough question, but the Mariners are 15 or something years older so they get the nod.
