Getting Oregon back to being Oregon

If we're to survive the brutal game against Michigan St. and get back to being Oregon again next season, I think we all know some things need to change. Here's a few suggestions. Feel free to add more.

1. Go back to the run first game. Make Tyner the workhorse. He's the right guy for the job. All that shit about running DAT up the middle last season was just excruciating to watch, and it really makes you question the coachs' intelligence.

2. Clean up the fucking slop, Frost. Slow down the offense a bit. Get back in control of the car and keep it on the road. Do your homework. Watch Auburn games 3 hours per day in the offseason. That's how we should be running the HUNH. Also, go back to Chip's photo play-calling cards. Ditch the new system. Don't change what works. Even Malzahn uses them.

3. Fire Allioti. Best defensive move of the offseason. Hire someone who will put some fight back into the defense. Cultivate a defense that can stop the run to deal with teams like Stanford, while maintaining the flexibility to cope with the WSU's.

4. Groom the next QB, quick. Get some new blood in Eugene. Mariota is great, but as soon as he gets a little roughed up and is forced to become a pocket passer, he becomes a mistake prone C- QB. Bench him as soon as this happens, let him heal and get the next guy in there to get some game time (and this doesn't mean Lockie). Put Mariota back in when he's back to being 90% of what he's capable of being.

5. Chip ran a dictatorial regime with leadership from the top down. Helfrich runs a democracy. Kill the democracy, stop being uncle buddy to the players, be a coach and assert control. Punish out of line behavior swiftly and severely. Clamp down on public shit talk from players. Bench them if they don't adhere. Encourage the seniors to step up and be leaders for the younger guys. Huff and DAT failed in this department, and that failure is on Helfrich.

6. Shave the needless penalties in half. Bench repeat offenders and/or revoke their privilege of using the new facilities until they get the message.
